Otitis: when your dog won't stop shaking its head

If your pet shakes its head, scratches its ears or has a bad ear odour, it may be otitis — one of the most common complaints in dogs and cats.

Why it happens

Otitis is caused by bacteria, yeast, parasites, allergies or foreign bodies. It often returns because the underlying cause was not treated.
