Besides causing pain and difficulty eating, periodontal disease can spread bacteria to other organs, affecting the patient's overall health.
Quando é indicada
It is recommended for persistent bad breath, tartar build-up, inflamed or bleeding gums, pain when chewing, difficulty eating, excessive drooling, loose or fractured teeth, tooth loss or changes in the mouth. Even without symptoms, periodic assessment is advised.
Como é realizada na clínica
The consultation begins with a full assessment of the mouth. When needed, procedures are performed under general anaesthesia with continuous monitoring, and may include ultrasonic scaling, polishing, periodontal treatment, extractions, oral and maxillofacial surgery and treatment of lesions. We use digital intraoral radiography whenever indicated.
