Tests may be recommended whenever it is necessary to investigate clinical changes, confirm a diagnosis, plan a surgical procedure or monitor the course of a disease.

The choice of test depends on each patient's clinical situation. When needed, tests can be performed with sedation or light anaesthesia to ensure the animal's safety and comfort.
